Sometimes I forget that life is not a speed boat. One can't grab the wheel, push the throttle and veer sharply towards your goals. Try as we might.
No, it's more like a sailboat that requires lots of tacking back and forth just to catch a thread of wind. On a bad day, you get lost. And on a truly bad day we get a boom to the head.
But more often than not, life is like a cruise ship. A change in direction requires complicated series of actions, you can't execute them alone, and turning that beast of a machine will feel agonizingly slow and futile.
But once you do change your axis - even by a few degrees - and then stay the course, the beautiful thing is this: eventually you'll end up in a whole new world.
